Meet the Artist

Stacy Bledsoe

Stacy is a professional artist living and working abroad, where she taught the English language from 2010 to 2022. She served as an instructor at the university level from 2013 to 2019. She is a native of the U.S. from the state of Kansas. She spent her early years studying art and photography, culminating in a degree in Commercial and Advertising Arts from Salina Area Technical College and a degree in Studio Arts. ​

She has worked as a freelance artist on commissions since 1998 and is fluent in many mediums, principally graphite, pastel, and colored pencil. Her illustrations comprise a versatile range of subjects, including landscapes, animals, automobiles, still life, and the human figure. For the past twenty-something years, she has pursued an interest in developing her technique toward the perfection of the human figure in realistic illustration portraits. She is a very detail-oriented artist, creating hundreds of portraits over the years of exceptional quality. When not working on commission, she illustrates Hollywood movie stars or famous people for practice and educational purposes.

Her work has been publicly exhibited in such venues as the Salina Area Public Television Art Gallery (1998) and a special exhibition in Çorum Turkey, sponsored by Bir Medya and the Çorum Municipality (2017). Her work has also been published in three books and one calendar by Shan Peck: 'Stars of the Silver Screen' (paperback), 'Arts, Sports, Politics, Science' (paperback), 'Arts, Sports, Politics, Science' (hardcover), and the '2022 Movie Stars Edition' calendar. She also has three self-published (2021) books available on Amazon, Color by Number Türkiye Vol I, Vol II, and Extended Version.
